This item is a lot of 40 different antique cigarette cards from a 50 card set issued by Wills in 1924. The set is titled Merchant Ships Of The World. The ten missing cards are #s 8, 10,14,32, 36, 41, 47, 48, 49, & 50.
These cards feature different types of non military large steam powered ships, mostly top of the line passenger liners, or cruise type vessels...or cargo ships used for the transportation of merchandise, produce & goods. The fronts have a wonderful illustration of the featured ship, and the backs give details on the specifications of the vessel, like the builders name, line name and year built ,gross tonnage, length, and beam ...also the countries and ports

These cards are mostly in good condition, but there are a few with slight age yellowing &/or stubbed corners, & one or two are perhaps a little bit grubby (#3) #35 has a small front top left corner crease. Please be sure use the photo zoom to inspect the cards condition, front, back & corner.
